Thank you everyone that attended the 1st Annual National Night Out at Hillcrest Assisted Living. We had a lot of fun and enjoyed seeing many new faces and familiar faces as well. There were a lot of visitors from the community and special guest appearances. The Residents came out and enjoyed the music of the Beatles performed by local guitarist James Smith. Everyone love the fresh off the grill hotdogs followed by strawberry and chocolate ice cream. The Kids had a good time jumping high in the bounce house and getting their faces painted with their favorite characters and heroes. Classic cars lined the parking lot of Hillcrest and brought back memories of the 50′ and 60′s.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. Together, we are making that happen. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Some of the special guest that visited Hillcrest Assisted Living were Council President Maryanne Jordan who was escorted by Captain Paul Burch of the Boise Police Department. The Local Fire Department stopped by and made everyone a fireman for the day with their fire hats that they passed out and cooled the crowd off with the big fire hose. There was a motorcycle cop that let kids sit on his motorcycle to take pictures and pretend they were a police officer.
Everyone left with lots of memories, and we hope that the 2nd Annual will be even better next year.
