With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we think about the variety of food that cover our dinner tables. With the juicy, golden, plump turkey in the center, what are some of the sides you enjoy? Do you have a family tradition at your table?
Here at Hillcrest, we will be having both turkey and ham, with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy, buttery corn, and a roll. But wait! We can’t forget the green bean casserole or the marshmellow sweet potatoes ?! Don’t worry they will be there too. To end the dinner there will be a slice of pumpkin or pecan pie topped with smooth whipped cream.
Please join us at our table this Tuesday November 22, 2016 from 4-6:30pm.
Tuesday, November 8th 2016 was Presidential Election Day as we all know. The Hillcrest community wanted to represent their country with their right to vote. Chatter and excitement was heard as they waited for the bus to load up and head to the voting poles. Whether they are Democrat or Republican, they enjoyed the experience of casting their vote for the 45th President Of The United States Of America. Check out the video below of some of our proud Americans we have here at Hillcrest.
Every Thursday we have Happy Hour up on our Balcony from 3:30-430pm. The smiles flow as they sit and socialize with one another, drinking their cocktails and snacking on chips and dip. Even April the Executive Director stopped in to chit-chat with the group and take a few selfies. We sure do know how to have a good time.
Bingo is a big deal here at Hillcrest Assisted Living. Each card costs a nickel to play and our residents love it! We have had high numbers of participants and welcome more to the table. Everyone is invited! You never know, you may be the one yelling BINGO!!

The definition of a legend, is an extremely famous or notorious person or story of history, especially in a particular field. Coach Lyle Smith is just that. Lyle serves as the head coach at Boise Junior College-now Boise State University- from 1947 to 1967. He also was the Athletics Director for 13 years. Many people look up to Lyle for guidance and inspiration about coaching, running a winning sports program, and just long life in general. “Coach” celebrated his 100th birthday this last spring, and he still attends every home game to support the Boise State Broncos.
Recently Boise State wanted to honor Lyle with a commemorative statue. Now “Coach” is always going to be squatting down, with his clipboard and his fedora hat in front of the BSU football field, ready to lead the future generations of Bronco football.
Bronco football season kicked off this weekend and Hillcrest had the “hard to get” game that was only on ESPN3. The residents were all pumped up and cheering as the Boise State Broncos crushed the Louisiana Lafayette’s 45-10. As you walk into the building it bleeds blue and orange and you can feel the “Bronco Fever ” spreading. The custom blue and orange donuts tasted delicious and we washed it down with orange cream punch.
The Broncos next game is a late one, this Saturday the 10th. Game starts at 8:15pm. We will have the game up on our 2 big screen TV’s, so grab a friend and your BSU gear and join us!
We celebrated National Senior Citizen’s Day with what else… Sundaes! Everyone gathered to get their chocolate and strawberry covered sundaes topped with nuts and waffle cone pieces. The sat under the umbrellas out in our courtyard and enjoyed their sweet treat. Thank you everyone that joined us for this special day.
National Night Out 2016 can be summed up in one word, FANTASTIC! It was great to join together our Hillcrest community and the surrounding neighborhoods. Ryan Wissinger and his band kept the music flowing while the crowed enjoyed a juicy … Continue reading →
